How many Americans think (very wrongly) that the Moon landing was staged? We un-Earth-ed 2 polls--from 1995 (TIME/CNN) & 1999 (Gallup). Both found 6% said it was faked. Small % but millions of adults. Many elections are decided by 1% or less. It all makes sense to me now.#MoonDay

Of the name change, LBJ tells FL Gov. Bryant: “I'm studying historical background...a little bit," but doesn't think he'll "run into any trouble". In fact, it proved to be unpopular in FL. State legislature restored the Cape Canaveral name in May, 1973. https://t.co/AUFHSgeB3K

3/Trump's plan can be frustrated in several ways. Ex: Dem 2020 turnout could be through the roof to oust Trump. Yet as I said, dividing is easy and it can work--though history never honors the dividers. As if Trump cares! Holding power is all that matters in the here and now.

Larry Sabato
5 days ago:   Monday Jul 15 - 8:54am
2/Key for Trump is goosing rural & non-college white turnout. He’ll never need a majority or even a plurality of total vote. His Electoral College path is clear. Even if he energizes minorities as much as whites, Trump still gains more overall votes.

Larry Sabato
5 days ago:   Monday Jul 15 - 8:51am
1/ Dividing is easy. Uniting is hard. Either can win an election but Trump much prefers the easy way. Trump calculus is simple. 70% of electorate is white, Trump wants to get 57-59% of that. Trump is stuck at about 22-23% of all non-whites combined (30% of total electorate).
