We elect leaders to look out for our communities and keep us safe. That's their job. If the governor has no interest in stopping this virus, the least he can do is step aside and let local officials provide the necessary leadership. https://t.co/5nQF9Jx7WH

Tomorrow the Texas House will vote on the SB 1 anti-voter bill. Texas: This may be the last chance to do what we can to keep this from becoming law. Call your legislators and urge them to vote NO. Tell them to stop tampering with our elections: https://t.co/f3hxH7agR1

Kennard ISD is the 4th East Texas school district to cancel classes due to COVID outbreaks in schools. We have the power to prevent this. Schools boards should follow all CDC guidelines, including requiring masks in schools. This keeps kids safe and keeps them in the classroom. https://t.co/B7LApAPixV

RT @Sifill_LDF: The vote in the House to reauthorize the VRA in 2006 was 396-33. That’s how much our political landscape has changed. Voting rights hasn’t moved. Partisan politics has. https://t.co/PeOYKqMNpc

RT @dremilyportermd: Suburban Austin. County health officials recommended closing school for 10 days but got the finger from the district, which has a 10% mask opt-out. Based on the the R0 of delta, experts expect the entire student body to be infected in the next 5 weeks and 420 kids hospitalized. https://t.co/AI36buljHg

RT @RepVeasey: Our democracy was founded on the promise that as Americans, we should have a say in the decisions that affect our lives. Today, we're keeping that promise alive for ALL Americans by passing #HR4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to #RestoreTheVote! https://t.co/MWfz7LG6SK

The U.S. House just passed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. This is an important step forward, but not enough to save our democracy until this bill and the For the People Act become law. The President must push to reform the filibuster so that the Senate can pass both bills.
